Board of Directors Nomination Process

RAPS is seeking nominations for president-elect, secretary/treasurer and for three directors positions on the RAPS Board of Directors for the 2012–2014 term, as well as the board officer positions of president elect and secretary/treasurer.


Nomination Process

The general process and timeline for the 2011 nomination process are:

  • Call for nominations open to all voting members:  7 March–22 April 2011
  • Nominating Committee review:  May 2011
  • Nominating Committee announces slate of officers and directors:  by June 2011*

2012-2014 Board Position Openings

  • President Elect (1 open position)
  • Secretary/Treasurer (1 open position)
  • Directors (3 open positions)

How to Nominate a Candidate

Members in good standing may nominate themselves and/or nominate qualified colleagues. Potential nominees should review considerations used for RAPS officers and directors. Please complete the Board of Directors Nomination Form (PDF) and send it to nominations@raps.org along with an updated curriculum vitae (CV).


Considerations Used for the Selection of Board of Directors Candidates

In reviewing candidates, the RAPS Nominating Committee will consider:

  • regulatory experience
  • RAPS involvement (must be a RAPS member)
  • leadership and management experience
  • potential to contribute and advance the regulatory profession and RAPS
  • ability/willingness to commit appropriate time and effort to the Board of Directors

* Additional eligible candidates may be submitted by active voting members by submitting nomination materials plus written support of one hundred (100) active and life RAPS members in good standing within thirty (30) days after the Nominating Committee presents its slate of candidates to membership. If additional qualified nominees are submitted, then electronic voting will be conducted.
