- Cover letter and CV from the applicant, including their contact information
- Application essay *
- Letter of nomination from the individual’s supervisor or company sponsor that outlines support for this individual’s participation in the program and includes detailed examples of how the individual has demonstrated potential in leading ideas, leading change and leading people
- Signed Commitment Statement from employer
- Completion of a leadership assessment survey by the participant and his or her supervisor prior to the start of the program
- Ability and commitment to participate in all activities in the program, including RAPS Chapter participation, if available, and independent activities

Application Essay
As part of the Rising Leaders application, you will be asked to provide a brief essay of no more than 750 words that addresses the following questions:
- Why do you want to be a Rising Leader?
- What leadership characteristics do you possess? How have you used them in your work in the regulatory field? Be specific.
- Cite your key accomplishments working in the regulatory profession.
- Describe your experience with training and/or mentoring adults or as a supervisor.
- Describe a specific challenge you have faced in your professional life and explain how you met the challenge.
- Describe what you will do with the experience and knowledge gained from this opportunity.
- Describe what you see as the critical challenges for the global regulatory profession in the next five years. In the next 10 years.
