Program Description
Communication and negotiation are essential skill sets for any professional whose work may require the influencing of others. For regulatory professionals, these skills become exponentially critical since their responsibilities regularly include significant negotiations among manufacturers and global regulatory agencies and/or Notified Bodies/Registrars.
This course provides a basic understanding of effective communication skills and how these skills are utilized throughout the negotiation process. It will facilitate an improvement in your personal communication style and enable you to become a more informed, confident negotiator resulting in a favorable outcome for you or your company.

Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:
- Define communication, negotiation and associated terminology
- Outline the basic principles of effective oral and written communication
- Discuss how effective communication should be used throughout the negotiation process phases to produce the best possible outcome
- Explain the major negotiation process phases, from planning through execution
- Distinguish between major types of negotiator styles and determine what style best fits various situations
- Recognize and neutralize “difficult” negotiation tactics
