Exam Schedules and Locations

RAC exams are administrated twice a year, in the spring and autumn.

Testing Window* Standard Registration Deadline Late Registration Deadline
Spring Exams: April – May 15 February 8 March Closed
Autumn Exams: October – November 15 August 8 September Register

There are hundreds of RAC testing centers available worldwide. Any of the four RAC exams (US, EU, CAN, or Global) may be taken at any location. Visit the Castle site for a full list of testing center locations.

Suggesting a New Testing Site

If a site convenient to your location is not on this list, you may propose an additional site. When registering for the exam date, time and site of choice with the testing administrator, applicants have the option of suggesting an alternative site. The testing agency will review the request and advise, via email, whether the site is available.

Transferring to Another Testing Cycle

Candidates may transfer to the immediate next testing cycle. One transfer is permitted and the request must be received in writing by the late registration deadline date. Refunds and transfers are not permitted after the late registration date.

Application Withdrawal

Candidates must submit written request for withdrawal of their application by the late registration date to receive a refund, less the $100 nonrefundable fee.

Candidates who do not submit a written notification of withdrawal by the late registration deadline date will not receive a refund but may submit a new application for a future testing window.

Candidates who have a documented, severe personal medical emergency or a death in their immediate family may test during the next examination period. The candidate must contact the RAPS Program office within 4 days after the scheduled RAC Examination date and provide appropriate documentation within 30 days after the RAC Examination date. A $79 fee applies to rescheduling.

Exam Scheduling

Eligible candidates will receive a scheduling notice via email from Castle Worldwide 10 days after the late registration deadline (spring cycle on or around 15 March, autumn cycle on around 15 September).

Candidates should review the information in the confirmation email to ensure accuracy of name and key contact information as this information will be used to access examination scheduling websites and for testing site confirmation. Candidates should immediately notify the RAC Program office to correct any information ( +1 301 770 2920, ext. 200, or email certification@raps.org).

Certification Vs. Certificate

The RAC is a professional certification: A formal recognition by an established and credible professional organization that an individual has demonstrated proficiency within, and comprehension of, an identified body of knowledge.

To earn a RAC, you must demonstrate competency by passing an exam, administrated by an accredited third-party testing provider. Neither the RAC Program nor RAPS requires you to take specific training courses as a condition of awarding the RAC credential; it is based solely on your exam performance.

What the RAC is not – A RAC is not a certificate, a document awarded for the attainment or completion of a series of courses or verification of attendance or participation in a learning event. Certificates do not have ongoing maintenance or renewal requirements and a certificate is not a precursor to certification.

The RAC Program is guided by the Regulatory Affairs Certification Board (RACB) and independent exam committees.
