Korea to Bring Certification for Clinical Trial Experts

Posted 21 December 2011

Korea National Enterprise for Clinical Trials (KoNECT) held a public hearing on 3 November, 2011 regarding the creation of a certificate system for clinical trials experts.  Intended for PI, CRC and CRA, this certificate system will grant qualifications for a two-level certificate (certified/qualified) through exams. To conduct this screening role, a certification board will be formed under KoNECT.  The certificate system will be used as a standardized tool to retain qualified experts in each field. The system is expected to help produce professionals in terms of both quality and quantity.  KoNECT president, Dr. Shin Sang Goo, stressed that the first certification exam would be conducted on a trial basis in February 2012.
