RAPS' LatestRAPS Announcements | 13 December 2022 | By Nicole Duran
The Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society (RAPS) is bringing a networking group for regulatory professionals to Portugal, making it the second community for the profession on the Iberian Peninsula.
This marks another step in RAPS’ mission to unite the global regulatory community in education, knowledge-sharing and career development. With this expansion, RAPS now boasts 32 chapters and local networking groups spanning six continents.
“I’m passionate about this segment of regulatory affairs as there is never a boring day and you can actually witness medicines going from the bench to the bedside!” Alexandra Rosa, a founding member, writes in a post on the new Portuguese website. “From this...I expect to grow my professional network, learn from other regulatory affairs professionals and, also, to share my experience.”
Rosa, Susana de Azevedo Wäsch, Celia Cruz, and Susana Vidigal are the Portuguese group's founders. They will engage with members in discussions on the chapter website to create a more formalized network.

Chapters and local networks allow regulatory professionals to take career development into their own hands, with support from RAPS' staff. Each chapter has a website where members can team up to answer questions specific to their geographic location, brainstorm, both in person and online, and arrange networking events.
