A note from your RAPS Europe board chair

RAPSRAPS' Latest | 21 February 2023 |  By

With March advancing upon us, I hope your kickoff to 2023 has been happy, productive, and safe.

After two years as vice president, I started my tenure as chair of the Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society Europe Board of Directors at the beginning of the year.

During my term, I will dedicate my efforts to promoting RAPS in general, and the Regulatory Affairs Certification (RAC) in particular, across Europe. European membership grew by 20% in 2022 (on top of 2021’s unprecedented 42% jump), and I hope to help continue that impressive climb.

Additionally in 2022, RAPS introduced new networking communities in France, Israel, Spain, and Portugal, and relaunched its local networking group in Ireland. I aim to continue that trend, starting (hopefully) with a new group in Austria.

I will also explore ways to increase awareness of the RAC in Europe. I will build on RAPS’ decade-long collaboration with an Austrian university’s EU regulatory affairs master’s program (University of Krems). I will seek ways to include the RAC as an integral part of European universities’ relevant programs.

RAPS has numerous European events planned for 2023, such as a workshop series on FDA topics including, “technical equivalence and cybersecurity” in Munich.  And, of course, RAPS hosts Euro Convergence in Amsterdam in May.

I personally welcome all interested professionals to these events!

Most importantly, “thank you” to RAPS’ members and volunteers for their dedication to, and promotion of, the regulatory profession—without which RAPS couldn’t exist.

I predict that 2023 will be another successful year for RAPS in Europe. I appreciate your support as we continue our journey toward professional excellence in regulatory affairs.

Sincerely,

Salma Michor
RAPS EU Chair
