It’s the Law: In Brief: The Revised EU Medical Devices Directive

The European Commission must review the Medical Devices Directive (MDD) every five years. New Directive 2007/47/ EC was formally adopted on 5 September 2007 and published on 21 September 2007;1 it entered into force on 11 October 2007.2 By 21 December 2008, Member States must adopt and publish the laws, regulations and administrative provisions necessary to comply with this directive, which will apply from 21 March 2010.3
