It’s the Law: In Brief: The Revised EU Medical Devices Directive

The European Commission must review the Medical Devices Directive (MDD) every five years. New Directive 2007/47/ EC was formally adopted on 5 September 2007 and published on 21 September 2007;¹ it entered into force on 11 October 2007.² By 21 December 2008, Member States must adopt and publish the laws, regulations and administrative provisions necessary to comply with this directive, which will apply from 21 March 2010.³
