[April 2008] Science & Technology: The Canadian Environmental Protection Act (CEBA): The Introduction of "New Organisms" That are Animate Products of Biotechnology In this day and age, regulatory professionals employed in the health sciences industry must pay attention to environmental legislation and its potential to impact their operations. In Canada, the Canadian Environmental Protection Act (CEPA) requires all new chemical substances and organisms that are animate products of biotechnology to undergo an assessment and review process before they can be commercially introduced.
