The double-digit growth rate of the pharmaceutical industry and the economic prosperity brought about by the enormous growth in the high-tech industry in the last 15 years, have transformed India's attractiveness as not only a location for cost-effective pharmaceutical product development but also a key market for finished products. Tremendous new opportunities have been created across all segments of the industry in India from generics to new product research and development (R&D) and contract research and manufacturing services.
