Career Considerations: Generic vs. Innovator Pharmaceutical Regulatory Affairs

A regulatory career can be highly rewarding for a variety of reasons, including one's involvement in the delivery of exciting healthcare products to patients in need and exposure to numerous aspects of the product development cycle. The wide array of career paths within and across the profession makes this key function that much more gratifying, especially for someone considering a change in focus within regulatory affairs. There are some factors worth considering when determining the next steps in a regulatory career. To illustrate some of these considerations, this article focuses on basic similarities and differences between regulatory roles in generic and innovator pharmaceutical firms.
