Regulatory Update

| 01 May 2010

Recently, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) launched FDA-TRACK, a performance management program that will monitor key performance metrics for 100 FDA program offices. The objectives of this program can be explained by its name: "TRACK" stands for Transparency, Results, Accountability, Credibility and Knowledge sharing. The goal is to provide the public a closer look into how the agency works, create more accountability within the offices and share information about FDA performance. The performance metrics, which are posted online on the FDA-TRACK dashboard, have been developed by the program offices and are reported on a monthly basis. Each quarter, monthly performance data are analyzed and senior managers present them to FDA senior leadership.
