Focus Forward: Keeping Regulatory in the Business Plan

Once again, economic challenges seem to be driving changes to business models in the healthcare product sector. In some cases, this change translates into mergers and acquisitions to drive product pipelines and global reach. Other organizations are recrafting their business models to focus on certain aspects of the product lifecycle and using outsourcing or collaboration for other stages. It seems discovery research is being affected most, although some companies also report cuts in their sales force and some others are reducing their marketing staffs.
