RAPS’ 2015 Regulatory Convergence is almost here. The signature annual event takes place next week in Baltimore. The opening plenary officially kicks off the conference Monday, 26 October, and everything wraps up Wednesday, the 28th. In between, there will be more than 75 different sessions with more than 300 speakers covering the latest developments in the regulation of pharmaceuticals, biotech, medical devices, health-related foods, regulatory strategy and more.
The Exhibit Hall: Where the Action Is
In addition to all the presentations, pop-up sessions, meals and networking breaks, there will be an exhibit hall featuring more than 100 exhibitors from around the world. The exhibit hall will open to attendees Monday, 26 October at 10:00 am, immediately following the opening plenary, and it tends to be a major center of activity throughout the Convergence.
Besides being home to the 100-plus exhibit booths, the hall will be the site of product demonstrations, massage stations, sponsored sessions, the RAPS Member Central area, a networking reception and more. Opening keynote speaker, Daniel Pink, will be signing copies of his books in the hall shortly after his presentation.
In case you haven’t heard, Baltimore has become something of a foodie town, and an the exhibit hall will be the place to be on Monday evening of the Convergence to sample some local fare, as well as beer and wine, at the Taste of Baltimore Exhibitor Reception, hosted by Medtronic.
Collect Swag, Win Stuff, Get a Massage
Naturally, there will be plenty of swag given away at exhibit booths and exhibitors are planning a number of drawings and raffles throughout the Convergence. You also could win up to $500 by filling out and turning in your exhibitor passport (look for it in your conference bag).
Go ahead and take a stroll around the exhibit floor. Some of the most prominent booths will be sponsored by BIOVIA, G-MED North America Inc., Regulatory and Quality Solutions, Sparta Systems Inc., Maetrics LLC, Mapi Group, Fresenius Medical Care North America, Schlafender Hase Inc., Hurley Consulting Associates Ltd., BSI Group America Inc., Research Presentation Strategies Inc., SGS North America Inc. and Graematter Inc. If you’re feeling stressed or tired, stop at the massage lounge sponsored by Abbott, in the center of the exhibit hall.
The Premier Event
Exhibitors will represent a mix of newcomers and long-time supporters of the Convergence. Most exhibitors give RAPS’ signature annual event high marks and tend to return year after year. “The RAPS Convergence is the premier event in the promotion of the life sciences on a professional level,” says Norman Rabin, director, solutions delivery, Maetrics. “With the opportunity to meet your peers, including the industry’s director- and VP-level thought leaders, attending this event increases learning, acumen and professionalism. It’s a valuable experience well worth the cost. You’ll go away with increased knowledge!” Both Maetrics and LQRA will host sponsored education sessions that will take place in the exhibit hall.
