All things—even the best things—must eventually come to an end. After five wonderful years working at RAPS, including the last four writing for Regulatory Focus, this week will be my last writing for the publication.
My last day as Managing Editor will be on 2 July 2015.
Don't worry—Regulatory Focus isn't going anywhere. Our existing staff, including Michael Mezher, Zac Brousseau and Gloria Hall, will make sure you still receive the high-quality news and information you've come to expect from Regulatory Focus, and we'll be hiring a new Managing Editor to oversee Focus quite soon.
As for me, I want to first and foremost extend my thanks to you, the readers of Focus, for making my time writing for this publication so profoundly enjoyable. It has been an honor, a privilege, a joy and a passion to write for you each day. For all of you who read my work regularly over the years, reached out with tips, started your day with Regulatory Recon or helped me to better understand a complicated regulatory issue, you have my sincerest thanks.
With your help, we've been able to expand the understanding of the importance of regulatory issues to a larger segment of the healthcare landscape. Since we went digital in 2012, we've written thousands of articles, reached more than 1.4 million readers and been cited in major newspapers, academic journals and even government reports. We'd like to think we've made an impact, if only a small one.
Not a day has gone by that I have not learned something new in the course of writing for Focus (including some things I'd probably sleep better at night not knowing), and I hope you've been able to learn a thing or two from Focus over the years as well.
Don't worry—I won't be going too far. I'll still be working on regulatory issues related to pharmaceuticals, medical devices and, of course, FDA. For those of you who'd like to stay in touch, you can find me on Twitter or connect on LinkedIn. And with any luck, you might find me writing for Focus from time to time in the future as well.
Farewell, and keep reading Focus. I know I will.
