As part of the eLearning team, the eLearning Specialist works collaboratively with the Education department and eLearning team to assist in the development of education and training that supports the Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society's (RAPS) membership.

The eLearning Specialist works with subject matter experts (SMEs) and other core team members during all phases of course production, including content development, design, testing, quality control, and evaluation. The eLearning Specialist also supports the day-to-day processes for RAPS’ eLearning curriculum development and program execution, including interaction with existing and potential customers to answer questions about the program and its courses. This position will engage in project management functions, including tracking performance from a financial, customer, and volunteer standpoint, with additional expectations for reporting recommendations and outcomes. This position reports to the Manager of eLearning.

Responsibilities include:

  • Identify course authors and facilitate creation of course content with the authors through regular communications, clearly set expectations and articulated deadlines.
  • Work collaboratively with internal staff, SMEs (volunteers and contractors) to coordinate the development and maintenance of the portfolio of self-paced courses.
  • Work with the Manager of eLearning and eLearning team to design courseware that conforms to standards for effective eLearning and RAPS branding.
  • Participate in the testing process of de-bugging e-learning modules for quality assurance of the course.
  • Work with the Manager of eLearning and eLearning team to optimize user interface and user engagement for courseware and other learning tools.
  • Support day-to-day RAPS Online University processes, including the development and maintenance of the production schedule for approved course topics.
  • Create and execute project plans for all course reviews.
  • Work collaboratively with the eLearning team to evaluate effectiveness of learning solutions and make recommendations for improvement as needed.
  • Provide operational support such as information gathering, report generation, monitoring trends from a consumer, competitor and/or financial perspective, etc.
  • Serve as the staff liaison to customer service to assist with additional details to answer inquiries related to online university purchases and general content; resolve discrepancies as needed.


Qualifications include:

  • Ability to anticipate problems and recommend solutions
  • Experience using Articulate Storyline or similar e-learning software
  • Professional experience using a learning management system
  • Proficiency with the Adobe creative suit suite
  • Excellent project management skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail while working on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects at one time and to hold individuals accountable to deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with ability to work in a team environment and with individuals from a geographically dispersed, multicultural membership.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and web-based applications
  • Specific experience with online platforms and/or medical/healthcare industry preferred
  • Nonprofit/Association work experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 4 years’ experience in adult educational program development with subject matter experts/volunteers and cross-functional teams.
