Digital Support Specialist, Rockville, Maryland

This position is responsible for setting up and maintaining RAPS digital solutions primarily including, but not limited to, event registration and related online logistics and technical support and maintenance for live and virtual events and related solutions. Create and maintain processes and procedures, working with the education team, to assist in collection of content and logistical information for event setup and management in AMS, CMS, and related event systems. Provide virtual and live meeting support for digital solutions. This position may require travel for live events. This position works within the technology team but works across departments, including the education events team to support the digital needs of events in alignment with the organization’s overall strategic goals. As part of the technology team, this position will also provide additional digital technical support as needed. This position reports to the Director, Technology.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage and maintain event setup process in digital systems for live and virtual events
  • Coordinate with stakeholders and vendors to set up technical needs related to event registration and online content
  • Provide technical support to staff, speakers, and attendees during live and virtual webcast and workshop events
  • Support customer service efforts to support of events
  • Generate digital reports on registration and work with marketing to connect systems for outreach efforts
  • Create and improve processes and procedures to improve internal and external digital event information and setup processes
  • As a member of the technology team, gain knowledge and cross-train to provide backup as needed
  • Collaborates on testing and evaluation for technology implementations


Required Skills/Technical Experience:

  • Tech savvy! Someone who has a high level of comfort using many types of digital technology. Additionally, we look for someone with the ability to look beyond obvious solutions and experiment with different approaches to solving problems to logically troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Understanding of advanced HTML and online content platforms with a willingness to learn
  • Experience in virtual and live meeting registration systems
  • Ability to calmly work under pressure in stressful situations during live events
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment and have a willingness to help
  • Attention to detail and process adherence
  • Quick adaptation to process changes as needed
  • Ability to work independently, self-learner
  • Top-notch capability to communicate in a non-technical manner and work well with others
  • A two-year college degree, or completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or completion of specialized training courses, or comparable job experience
