Education Manager, Rockville, Maryland or Remote

General Summary

The Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society (RAPS) is seeking an Education Manager to join our team. The Manager, Education is responsible for developing, planning, and executing education offerings across several modalities.

The Education Manager is an integral team member that helps RAPS deliver the most targeted, relevant, and rigorous educational offerings across all domains of the healthcare regulatory profession. Experience with in-person and virtual events will ensure use of industry best practices and on-site execution are essential to adhere to RAPS’ strategic priorities.
This position reports to the Senior Director, Education Programs and collaborates closely with several internal departments and external stakeholders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

•             Manages and contributes to the development and production of professional content to meet RAPS’ needs globally.
•             Assists with analysis of the lifecycle of curriculum development in support of the RAPS product roadmap including new courses, programs, quality improvements, and identification of new professional development opportunities.
•             Oversees the collection, analysis, and interpretation of evaluation data for specific RAPS educational product lines.
•             Manage partner committees to include managing rosters, communicating program details, meeting administration, program development and speaker invitations/confirmations.
•             Develop and manage European educational workshops working directly with and supervising a team of European-based contractors.
•             Work closely with RAPS staff and member volunteers (e.g., subject matter experts, committees) to design, develop, and deliver education.
•             Responsible for management and adherence to the production schedule of select synchronous learning events to include webcasts, virtual seminars, and workshops.
•             Develop and manage project plans in alignment with timeframes, budget, scheduling, and resources.
•             Collaborate with marketing team on campaigns to drive revenue.
•             Provide regular progress reports to Senior Director, Education Programs, Vice President, Education and Professional Development, and other members of the Executive Management team as necessary.
•             Participate in annual planning and budgeting and routine monitoring of RAPS Education’s financial performance.
•             Manage pre-event and on-site logistics for assigned programs.
•             Ensure quality control and consistency for assigned RAPS Education offerings, based on efficient standard operating procedures and regular analysis of customer feedback.


  • Knowledge of learning theory and curriculum development, current educational trends, methods, research, and technology
  • Experience developing and managing in-person events (international experience preferred)
  • Experience developing training programs for a variety of learning modalities (live, virtual, self-paced, instructor-led)
  • Experience with volunteer management, budgeting, project management, program planning and supervision
  • Working knowledge of faculty management systems (Cadmium preferred), membership databases (Impexium preferred) and learning management systems
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to analyze data and develop recommendations for improvement
  • Excellent organizational skills with emphasis on execution and problem-solving
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills   
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in education, training and/or professional development planning and execution, preferably at a non-profit, volunteer membership association
