Multimedia Designer, Rockville, Maryland

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
This position develops engaging designs to elevate RAPS’ brand awareness and prestige, as well as to promote RAPS’ product portfolio of market-leading events and programs across all channels. This position will primarily focus on digital mediums (email, website, microsites/landing pages, social, mobile apps, video), developing dynamic best practices and strong visuals for desktop and mobile that deliver on our brand experience, improve campaign performance, and increase revenue/ROI.
Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with marcom and internal stakeholders to develop marketing collateral that aligns with strategic campaign goals/objectives related to event, certification, membership, education and other professional development programs for members and the regulatory profession at-large
  • Participates in creative concepting process, including brainstorms and design pitches
  • Develop visually-compelling, creative concepts (and modify as necessary) for email, social media, microsites/landing pages, websites, mobile apps, presentations, direct mail, print/digital advertising, print collateral/brochures, trade show booths, event graphics, attendee/exhibitor materials, etc.
  • Manage and produce RAPS videos and photo shoots, includes storyboarding, production/equipment set up, recording and editing
  • Responsible for delivering a high volume of diverse design projects in a fast-paced environment with rapidly shifting priorities, while ensuring quality and brand consistency across all platforms
  • Assist in management and maintenance of design project archive and photo library

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
Qualifications include:

  • 3-5 years in a multimedia design position
  • Solid knowledge of graphic design, composition, typography and 2D animation
  • Proven, creative approach to delivering digital graphics, animations, illustrations, motion-graphics and video production
  • Excellent internal/external communications and project management skills
  • Strong, proactive, solutions-based approach to problem-solving
  • Ability to work methodically and meet deadlines
  • Collaborative team player with a willingness to comprise, accept design feedback and make recommendations for best possible outcomes
  • Strategic, creative, out-of-the-box thinker
  • Efficient, dependable, multi-tasker with an attention to detail who thrives working in a fast-pasted, dynamic environment
  • Proficient in design programs such as Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premier Pro and Adobe Flash; strong competency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office
  • Solid understanding of HTML and CSS
  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in multimedia design, graphic design, creative or art discipline) or a combination of education and experience which demonstrates the necessary skills and experience required for the position
  • Other formal training and/or demonstrated learning (certification or certificate) in design, UI/UX
