Maintain Your RAC Certification

As a RAC professional, you will be known as an industry expert, not only for passing the exam but also for maintaining your certification, which is required. Maintaining your RAC demonstrates your ever-expanding regulatory knowledge and dedication to your career and the profession.

A RAC credential is maintained by acquiring 36 hours of recertification credits every three years. Recertification is based upon participation in educational and professional activities, including:

Deadline and Requirements

Deadline: Recertification application for those with a 3-year cycle due in 2013 must be submitted by 15 December 2013.

As part of RAPS' continuing effort to make the recertification process as efficient and user-friendly as possible, paper documentation is not required. Simply complete the recertification form and:

  • Email the form and credit card payment information to rac@raps.org
  • Fax the form and credit card payment information to +1 301 770 2924 (attention "Recertification")
  • Mail the form and payment check to:

The fee for each three-year recertification renewal is $100 (RAPS member) or $310 (nonmember). Please do not send back-up documentation with the completed form.

RAPS offers a Professional Development Tracker to maintain a record of these activities. You should maintain supporting documentation for each listed activity. Please do not submit this supporting documentation with your recertification report but keep it on file in the event of an audit.


Please note: RAPS reserves the right to audit up to 10 percent of submissions each year. You will be contacted if you are among the randomly selected 10 percent who will be required to follow up with supporting documentation.
