RAPS Workshop: From Reactive to Predictive: The New Era of AI in Regulatory Intelligence

This two-hour interactive workshop explores how AI helps regulatory teams spot emerging trends earlier, track policy shifts faster and turn regulatory intelligence into strategic action.

Traditionally, regulatory monitoring has been reactive, addressing changes only after they are established. This interactive workshop will shift that paradigm, equipping regulatory professionals with knowledge and strategies to leverage artificial intelligence (AI) for proactive horizon scanning in today’s dynamic regulatory environment.

Participants will explore the evolution from conventional methods to advanced, AI-driven approaches, gaining clarity on key terminology relevant to regulatory intelligence. The workshop will highlight practical applications of AI tools and techniques, such as natural language processing and machine learning, showing how they can be applied to identify emerging regulatory trends, policy shifts, and technological advancements across global health authorities, with particular emphasis on implications for emerging markets.

Through real-world, de-identified scenarios, attendees will see how AI enhances trend analysis, uncovers opportunities, and generates actionable insights, turning raw intelligence into strategic foresight and stronger decision-making.

The workshop will conclude with a forward-looking discussion on AI’s anticipated impact on regulatory affairs, preparing participants to navigate future challenges and opportunities while ensuring organizational agility and compliance.

This workshop also emphasizes practical problem-solving and strategic thinking, enabling participants to transform regulatory intelligence into actionable insights that drive both organizational success and career advancement.

Learning Objectives

Upon the conclusion of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Differentiate between traditional reactive monitoring and proactive, AI-driven horizon scanning methodologies, and apply them within global regulatory contexts.
  • Assess key AI tools and techniques, such as natural language processing and machine learning, to conduct advanced trend analysis and forecast regulatory changes, particularly in emerging markets.
  • Develop strategic approaches and translate AI-driven insights into actionable recommendations to anticipate and navigate future regulatory challenges and opportunities.
