Sequita Lindsey is the Senior Manager of Regulatory Affairs Infection Prevention US, Surgery at BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company), bringing more than 19 years of experience across the medical device, pharmaceutical, and combination product sectors. Her career began on the manufacturing floor and grew through the ranks of regulatory affairs, giving her a hands-on understanding of every stage of the product lifecycle and a deep, unwavering commitment to patient safety.

In addition to her role at BD, Sequita serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Eshelman School of Pharmacy and Adjunct Professor at North Carolina Central University, Biomanufacturing Research Institute Technology Enterprise (BRITE), reflecting her passion for developing the next generation of regulatory professionals.

Sequita holds a Master of Science in Regulatory Affairs (MSRA) from Northeastern University and a Bachelor of Science from Winston-Salem State University. She holds the Regulatory Affairs Certification (RAC) in Global Scope and is a Fellow of the Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society (FRAPS), one of the highest distinctions RAPS confers on its members.

As Chair and President of the newly formed RAPS North Carolina Local Networking Group, Sequita is committed to building a connected, inclusive community for regulatory, quality, and compliance professionals across the state.

Christine Zomorodian, MS RA

Christine Zomorodian is an accomplished regulatory and quality leader with more than 30 years of experience in the biomedical, medical device, and healthcare industries. Her expertise spans regulatory affairs, quality systems, process improvement, product development, clinical laboratory science, and program management. Throughout her career, she has helped organizations navigate complex regulatory requirements while driving operational excellence and innovation.

Christine currently serves as Chief Regulatory Intelligence Officer and Founding Member of empowerreg.ai and is Founder & CEO of Gish Consulting. She is recognized for her leadership in regulatory science, quality systems, post-market surveillance, and the thoughtful application of emerging technologies to regulatory and compliance challenges. A longtime industry advisor, speaker, and mentor, Christine is passionate about advancing patient safety, fostering innovation, and helping professionals build successful careers in quality and regulatory affairs.

Casey Engstorm

Product Quality Engineering Lead, Philips

Casey Engstrom is a seasoned quality engineering professional with over three years of experience spanning medical devices, consumer electronics, and automotive manufacturing. Throughout her career, she has held key roles at major organizations including Philips Medical, Bio-Rad Laboratories, Precor, Ford Motor, Motorola, and Heartstream.

Casey holds multiple professional credentials, including ASQ certifications as a Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) and Certified Medical Device Auditor (CMDA), alongside an ISO 13485:2016 Lead Quality Auditor credential. She holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Missouri University of Science & Technology—where she is a member of the Academy of Miner Athletics—as well as an M.S. in Interdisciplinary Engineering from Purdue University and an M.S. in Medical Engineering from the University of Washington. She has also contributed to academia as a lecturer in the University of Washington’s Regulatory Affairs master's program and is recently retired.

Outside of her professional achievements, Casey is a mother of two sons and an active pickleball player and pianist.

Anjana Varier MS, MBA, RAC

Anjana Varier is a Regulatory Affairs Specialist II at Owlet Baby Care Inc., where she specializes in regulatory strategy and compliance for innovative products.

With a strong foundation in global medical device quality and regulatory systems, Anjana began her career in India, focusing on quality assurance and regulatory standards for medical devices. She later relocated to the United States to pursue advanced education, earning her Master of Science in Biomedical Regulatory Affairs from the University of Washington in 2022. Prior to her current role at Owlet, she served in regulatory affairs at Fujifilm Sonosite, contributing to the lifecycle management and compliance of point-of-care ultrasound systems.

Outside of her professional work, Anjana is a dedicated mother of two sons, an active member of a local throwball team, and an avid pickleball player who enjoys participating in community sports and events.
