FRA - Global Regulatory Strategy

About the Exam

Key Exam Facts:

  • Each FRA exam has 40 questions
  • All questions are multiple choice. View sample questions
  • You have five attempts to pass the exam. If you do not pass, you may purchase the re-take exam where you will have five more attempts to pass.
  • You will have 60 minutes to complete your exam on each attempt.
  • Materials may NOT be used during the exam. You will need to sign an honor agreement before taking the exam that says you promise not to receive (or provide) any assistance during the exam session.

All exam questions are written based on the learning objectives and key concepts covered in these courses. While you are not required to complete the courses to take the exam, they are the recommended study materials and the best way to prepare.

FRA – Global Regulatory Strategy for Medical Devices

  • Global Regulatory Strategy for Medical Devices
    • Describe the elements impacting the definition and classification of medical devices globally
    • Determine the points to consider in the development of a global regulatory strategy
    • Define the tools for global regulatory strategy development
    • Recognize sources of regulatory and competitive intelligence
    • Identify the elements of a regulatory plan
    • Apply global regulatory principles to develop a regulatory plan, including STED documents for global registrations

FRA – Global Regulatory Strategy for Pharmaceuticals

  • Global Regulatory Strategy for Pharmaceuticals
    • Define global regulatory strategy and explain how such a strategy may be applied to support multi-regional marketing applications
    • Discuss global developments, trends and the future direction of pharmaceutical development strategies
    • Use regulatory “tools,” such as a Global Regulatory Strategic Document (GRSD) and Target Product Profile (TPP), to provide regulatory guidance in cross-functional global strategy teams
    • Understand the role of the regulatory professional in cross-functional global strategy teams
    • Describe the composition and attributes of the International Conference on Harmonization (ICH) that contributes to the global development of pharmaceuticals
    • Understand the cultural and assessment differences between the US and EU that need to be considered when defining a global regulatory strategy
    • Cite recent and ongoing changes within the Japanese health authority and discuss how these changes may affect the timing and content of a global development strategy Understand the basic regulatory requirements in the BRIC-M countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China and Mexico) as part of a global product development and registration program
    • Recognize the relationship between changes in the global regulatory environment and shifts in requirements or understanding of the science essential to supporting a product development program; e.g., the impact of evolving regulatory science in the era of personalized medicines increasing the role of relative effectiveness research and third-party payors
 

Register for the Exam

There are multiple ways to purchase the FRA exam. Choose the option that best fits your learning goals:

Take the Exam

The exam is offered online through the RAPS Learning Portal. After you register, the exam will be available in the Learning Portal. You choose the day and time to take your exam. It is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You do NOT need to schedule your time in advance. Login, sign the honor agreement, and begin your exam.

Results & Recognition

Pass/Fail Notification

Your results will be available immediately after completing your exam.

FRA Recognition and Use of Designation

Candidates who pass the exam will receive a digital badge and certificate.

While you cannot use the letters "FRA" after your name, you can reference earning the FRA credential on your resume.

Your FRA credential does not expire, and there are no renewal requirements.
