Bay Area Regulatory Pros Looking Forward to Convergence's Return to San Jose

The Regulatory Convergence will return to San Jose, CA, in 2016, bringing RAPS’ signature annual event back not only to one of the world’s premier centers of technology and innovation—Silicon Valley—but also to the home of RAPS’ oldest and one of its most active chapters, the San Francisco Bay Area Chapter. RAPS asked some of the local chapter’s volunteers and other local regulatory professionals about what makes the San Francisco Bay Area such a special place, and why San Jose in particular is a great place to host the Convergence.

The area offers a unique combination of factors that make it a great setting for regulatory professionals to gather an engage. “San Jose is the perfect place to converge because it brings together the technology and the people,” said Meredith Brown-Tuttle, RAC, vice president of regulatory and quality at Lyric Pharmaceuticals.

“It is a melting pot of companies in terms of biotech, digital software companies which are going into healthcare and life sciences,” said Pooja Shah, RAC, senior regulatory specialist at Roche Molecular Systems. “These companies face a lot of regulatory challenges and having the conference here opens the doors to a lot of participants who want to update their knowledge of the regulations.”
