Brazil: Regulation To Foster Innovation

Brazil's reorganized national regulatory agency, Anvisa, said in remarks it is focused on establishing "a regulatory environment conducive to innovation."

The remarks, by Anvisa's CEO Dirceu Barbano, were made at the opening of the First Week of Sanitary Surveillance in Congress on 8 May.  

The regulatory framework for innovation support will be based on "stability, predictability, clarity, rationality and efficiency," explained Barbano.  

Innovation is a cornerstone of Brazil's ability to be competitive internationally, and Anvisa recently adopted new policies to facilitate bringing new clinical research into the country.
