FDA commissioner Robert Califf to speak at RAPS Convergence 2022

The Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society (RAPS) is pleased to announce that US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Commissioner Robert Califf, MD will speak at RAPS Convergence 2022, 11-13 September, in Phoenix, AZ at the Phoenix Convention Center.

After holding two years of virtual conferences, Convergence will commence its return to an in-person meeting with an opening plenary session where Califf will present on 11 September at 4:30 pm MDT. The commissioner will provide his remarks virtually.

“Robert Califf’s focus on scientific evidence and informed decision-making for healthcare professionals and patients alike makes him an essential voice as we discuss the future of regulatory affairs at RAPS Convergence 2022,” said Kimberly Belsky, MS, Executive Director, Regulatory Policy & Intelligence and AdPromo, Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals. Belsky is the chair of the Convergence 2022 planning committee.

Califf first served as FDA commissioner from February 2016 to January 2017 and was confirmed again to the position in February 2022. In between stints at FDA, Califf served as a senior adviser to Alphabet’s life sciences arm Verily and taught at Duke University School of Medicine.

RAPS Convergence is the leading conference for regulatory professionals to connect with peers and interact directly with health authorities and notified bodies on the latest topics in the healthcare products sector.

"Convergence is the place for regulatory professionals to unite and chart the future of the profession,” said Bill McMoil, RAPS Interim Executive Director. "Hearing directly from Commissioner Califf and other health authorities will help attendees see the big picture—and drill down on the issues that matter.”

Registration for RAPS Convergence 2022 is still open, and attendees can save by registering before the 18 August advance rate deadline.
