Former NY/NJ Chapter Chair Gosda Dies of Cancer

Former chair of the RAPS New York/New Jersey Chapter, Andrea Grace Gosda (née Parisse), died on Sunday, 11 August 2013, at Overlook Medical Center in Summit, NJ, after a seven-month battle with cancer. Gosda, of Clark, NJ, is survived by her husband, Edmond Gosda, her son, Charles Jacob Gosda, age 4, and her daughter, Grace Caroline Gosda, age 2.

Gosda was the associate director of regulatory affairs, CMC, at Ikaria Inc., in Hampton, NJ. She also worked at Block Drug and Baxter Healthcare during her career, and was a registered pharmacist in the state of New Jersey. She received a BS in pharmacy from the University of the Sciences of Philadelphia, an MBA from St. John's University in New York, and held the Regulatory Affairs Certification (RAC) credential. She served as president of the RAPS New York/New Jersey Chapter for three years.

"Andrea really kick-started our chapter when we were having trouble locating venues and getting speakers," said Linda Bowen, another past chair of the chapter and former RAPS board member, who also worked with Gosda at Block Drug. "She is going to be missed by family, friends and the regulatory affairs community."
