Meet Regulatory Convergence Keynote Speaker Daniel Pink

One of the many highlights of RAPS’ annual Regulatory Convergence is the opening keynote speaker. The opening presentation often sets the tone for the entire conference and gets attendees talking and thinking in new ways right from the start, and this year’s keynote on 26 October in Baltimore from author and TV host Daniel Pink promises to be a memorable one. Pink is known for using “diabolical psychology for the greater good,” as he likes to say. He delves into concepts of human behavior and social science while making them understandable and entertaining to millions of people.

Pink is a best-selling author who has written five books, including Drive: The Surprising Truth About What Motivates Us, and his latest, To Sell Is Human: The Surprising Truth About Motivating Others. His books have sold more than two million copies around the world. He also is the host of The National Geographic Channel’s popular series, Crowd Control, which examines common problems and engineers creative, behavior-based solutions, such as preventing people from jaywalking using a clever game installed at an intersection (see video below) or keeping drivers from speeding on a musical highway.

Pink is a frequent and popular speaker, having delivered more than 1,000 lectures in 36 different countries. With more than 13 million views, his TED talk on the science of motivation (see video below) is one of the 10 most-watched TED talks of all time.
