RAPS Announces New Board Slate

The RAPS Nominating Committee has announced its slate of one new officer and three directors nominated to serve on the RAPS board of directors for terms beginning January 2016. Current board member Susumu Nozawa, RAC, FRAPS, director, technical and regulatory policy/corporate regulatory affairs for BD, has been nominated to serve as the body’s next president-elect. The president-elect serves in that role for one year before succeeding to become president, then chair of the board.

For the board’s three open director positions, the committee nominated one current board member to serve another term, as well as two newcomers. Ed Tabor, MD, vice president of regulatory affairs, Fresenius Kabi, is the returning nominee. David Chadwick, PhD, RAC, FRAPS, director regulatory affairs/regulatory science, Cook Inc.; and Jethro Ekuta, DVM, PhD, RAC, FRAPS, vice president, regulatory affairs North America, Johnson & Johnson Family of Consumer Companies also have been nominated to serve as directors. Directors serve three-year terms.

“These individuals have the knowledge, visibility, depth and breadth of experience, and commitment necessary to serve the organization and the profession well into the future,” read an email to RAPS members announcing the slate.

RAPS members have until 27 July to submit any additional nominations through written petition signed by at least 100 active or life members in good standing. Nominees will be confirmed in October during the annual meeting to take place at the 2015 RAPS Regulatory Convergence in Baltimore.
