RAPS announces board slate for term beginning in 2023

The RAPS nominating committee has selected the slate of new members set to join the RAPS Board of Directors for its next term, beginning 1 January 2023.

The committee carefully reviewed submitted nominations materials and made its selections based on professional experience, substantive involvement with RAPS and a clearly articulated vision for expanding the global reach of the organization and advancing the regulatory profession.

The following members are set to join the board in 2023:
  • Treasurer: Patricia Reis Castro, CPA, Executive, Post Market Surveillance, GE Healthcare
  • Director: Daniela Drago, PHD, RAC, FRAPS, FTOPRA, Chief Regulatory Officer, Aurion Biotech
Additionally, three current board members will begin their second term in 2023: 
  • Director: Sabina Hoekstra-van den Bosch, PharmD, FRAPS Regulatory Strategy Principal, TÜV SÜD Global Medical Health Services, Germany
  • Director: Frank Pokrop, CPGP, CQA, CQE, CSQE, RAC Senior Director, Regulatory Affairs Quidel Corporation
  • Director: Kimberly Trautman, MS Managing Director and VP, MEDIcept
Hoekstra-van den Bosch, Pokrop and Trautman are all first-term board members in good standing who applied and were selected for a second term.

"These individuals have the knowledge, visibility, depth and breadth of experience, and commitment necessary to serve the organization well into the future." said Nominating Committee Chair Don Boyer, BSc (Hons), RAC, FRAPS. "We are very encouraged by these regulatory professionals who are so enthusiastic and eager to serve in such an important leadership capacity."

In accordance with RAPS bylaws, members may submit additional nominations through a written petition that specifies a qualified candidate’s name and position sought—and must bear the names, contact information and signatures of at least 50 active or life members in good standing. Petitions must be submitted electronically to the RAPS nominating committee via [email protected] by 8 August 2022. If no petitions are received, the slate of incoming board members will be confirmed on 9 August 2022.
