RAPS honors 9 regulatory professionals and one organization with 2025 awards

RAPS has recognized nine distinguished professionals and one organization with awards for their work to support the regulatory profession and advance public health. Recipients will be honored at RAPS Convergence 2025, which will take place on 7-9 October in Pittsburgh, PA.  

The 2025 RAPS Award winners are:

The Founder's Award

The Founder’s Award is the profession’s highest honor, recognizing exemplary regulatory professionals who have shaped regulatory policy and practice and have made a positive impact on the profession. This year’s Founder’s Award recipients are:

  • Gert Bos, PhD, FRAPS, Executive Director & Partner, Qserve 
  • Peter Barton Hutt, Senior Counsel, Covington & Burling LLP 
  • Alberto Grignolo, PhD, Editor-in-Chief, DIA Global Forum 
  • Susan Stewart, JD, LLM, RAC, FRAPS Chief Regulatory Officer, Rezolute Bio, Inc.  and Candel Therapeutics, and Advisor, The Termeer Foundation

The Community Leadership Award

The Community Leadership Award recognizes RAPS members who have served as RAPS ambassadors and have spent time building networks and supporting regulatory professionals in their communities. This year’s Community Leadership Award recipients are:  

  • Silu (Lulu) Zhang, MSc, RCC-MDR, RCC-IVDR Director of Global Regulatory Affairs – Medical Devices/IVD at Changchun GeneScience Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. 
  • Qianqian Zhu, MBA, LLM, RAC Director of RAQA for China, Hong Kong, and Macau at Intuitive Surgical, Inc.

The Rising Star Award

The Rising Star Award recognizes promising individuals early in their careers who demonstrate initiative and exhibit a passion for strengthening their regulatory communities. This year’s Rising Star Award recipients are:

  • Attrayee Chakraborty, MS, MSc. Quality Systems Engineer at Analog Devices (ADI) 
  • Akanksha Kulshreshtha, PhD, MS, RAC-Devices Manager, Regulatory Affairs, FUJIFILM Sonosite, Inc

The Patient-Centered Health Award 

The Patient-Centered Health Award recognizes organizations or individuals for making a significant impact to advance patient-centered policy, product development or regulatory decision-making. The recipient of this year’s honor is the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. 

The Article of the Year Award

The Article of the Year Award celebrates the most thought-provoking peer-reviewed article in Regulatory Focus. The global regulatory landscape for AI/ML-enabled medical devices, written by Akanksha Kulshreshtha, PhD, MS, RAC-Devices, Manager, Regulatory Affairs, FUJIFILM Sonosite, Inc and Medha Sateesh Bharadwaj, MS Senior Regulatory Affairs Specialist at Intuitive. 

These outstanding awardees exemplify excellence by setting the highest standards, giving back to the professional community," said RAPS Executive Director Bill McMoil. “Their efforts remind all of us that we are here to improve patient outcomes with safe and effective healthcare products.”
