Sequita Lindsey talks RAC pride and moving from Convergence attendee to exhibitor

Sequita Lindsey is CEO of Lindsey Regulatory Consulting. She’s been a RAPS member since 2007. In an interview with RAPS, Sequita shared what career accomplishment she’s most proud of, how she stays updated on all things regulatory, and the excitement of becoming a RAPS Convergence exhibitor. This conversation has been lightly edited for clarity.

How did you get started in the regulatory affairs profession?

I got into regulatory affairs working in production for a medical device company. I was working there for about three years and moved into regulatory affairs. It’s ever-changing and always evolving. Regulations continually change, so it keeps me researching a lot.

As a consultant, how do you stay informed on all these regulatory developments?

I stay updated through various events, such as RAPS Convergence. I can meet with colleagues and listen to the different sessions. RAPS is also really good with providing online information. And I’ve been self-taught through a lot of the information that is coming out based on the regulations. Plus, RAPS newsletters, other companies that provide information as well as assessments, all of the regulator websites, such as FDA, Health Canada, etc.

What’s the career achievement you’re most proud of?

Getting my RAC in 2016. That was a very hard exam because it was global scope then. So, I’m very proud of that moment. I feel like it sets you apart from the rest, it lets you know that you're a leader as well as very understanding of your craft.

How does RAPS membership help you?

The interaction with other colleagues. It's not just for regulatory professionals, there’s clinical and quality, and it's such a small knit group. It's a great opportunity to network. The RAPS website provides a lot of great information, there are a lot of networking opportunities, and RAPS chapters. I highly recommend becoming a member. The perks that it gives you are very nice, and it’s helpful to be able to interact with individuals at Convergence.

This year I came to Convergence not as an attendee like I have in the past four years. But this year, I’m an exhibitor for the first time. I'm excited to be an exhibitor! It’s been rewarding.
