Introducing the RAPS Southern California Local Networking Group

The Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society (RAPS) has started a networking group for regulatory professionals in Southern California, partnering with local regulatory professionals to create a community for networking and knowledge sharing.

The RAPS Southern California Local Networking Group (LNG) is the second RAPS regional community in California, joining the RAPS San Fransisco Chapter.

“There is deep expertise and a wealth of knowledge that resides in So Cal,” said RAPS RAPS Southern California LNG Chair Janet Michener Whipple. “I’m honored and privileged to be the initial chairperson of this new LNG, and I’m most excited to exchange ideas and learn from other lifescience, regulatory and quality experts in the local area.  I look forward to meeting individuals with decades of experience as well as those that are new to the profession, to exchanging ideas and gaining perspectives, and to building a community to support one another."

Meet the new group’s leaders:

  • Chair: Janet Michener Whipple, ELIQUENT Life Sciences

  • Vice Chair: James Wabby, AbbVie

  • Secretary/Historian: Carolyn White, Glaukos

  • Treasurer and Sgt. At Arms: Michael Murphy, Amgen

  • Public Relations, Communications & Social Media: Martha Davis, ELIQUENT Life Sciences

  • Membership: Susan Bain, USC School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences

  • Programs and Networking Events: Rena Pandit, Amgen

These LNG leaders will work with local regulatory professionals and RAPS to build an engaged community and host events for regulatory professionals in Southern California both online and in-person.

Chapters and local networking groups allow regulatory professionals to promote regional career development with support from RAPS staff. Each chapter and LNG has a website where members can team up to answer questions specific to their geographic location, brainstorm in-person and online and arrange networking events.
