Introducing 2 new FRA credentials in global regulatory strategy
RAPS is expanding its Foundation in Regulatory Affairs (FRA) credential program with two new global regulatory strategy exams:
Launched in 2025, the FRA is an assessment-based certificate designed to help those new regulatory affairs or those seeking to transition into the field. Building on this foundation, RAPS is introducing these new global regulatory strategy exams to provide additional opportunities for professional development and recognition.
In addition to the new credentials, the existing FRA-Introduction to Medical Devices and FRA-Introduction to Pharmaceuticals remain available, providing more pathways for professionals to demonstrate foundational regulatory affairs knowledge.
“Today’s healthcare product regulatory journeys are increasingly global,” said RAPS Executive Director Bill McMoil. “These new credentials will help prepare the next generation of regulatory affairs professionals to help new medical innovations reach even more patients in markets around the world.”
Each FRA exam is built upon trusted information from RAPS online courses, ensuring a strong knowledge base.
The Global Regulatory Strategy for Medical Devices and Global Regulatory Strategy for Pharmaceuticals courses are recommended for the respective credentials.
Each exam tests the key concepts and learning objectives taught in the corresponding course. While you are not required to complete the course to take the exam, it is the recommended study material and the best way to prepare. Each exam is available on demand.
