5 highlights from RAPS Convergence 2024
It’s hard to believe that RAPS Convergence 2024 is in the books. After years of preparation and hard work from regulatory professionals around the globe, the biggest regulatory event of the year blew us away.
To all of our more than 2,000 attendees hailing from 37 countries, we hope you enjoyed making valuable connections and learning about the future of the regulatory profession as much as we did.
We spoke with five RAPS Convergence attendees to get their reactions on what made this event special, from a focus on artificial intelligence (AI) to finding community, and more.
RAPS Convergence is headed to Pittsburgh in 2025. Sign up here for updates on registration and more.
Learning practical lessons on AI in regulatory
“The implication and the application of AI, that's what I've learned, across the board. My wheels are turning in terms of how I can bring that to my own personal practice, and how I can leverage some of the products that have been demonstrated here. As well as, you know, ensuring that I also provide the most comprehensive data and the most comprehensive writing and submissions, to our regulatory authorities.”

Watching regulators and industry come together
“One highlight for me was seeing the different stakeholders coming together for some of these important conversations. I really have appreciated having leaders from the FDA and from the EMA here. They've been sharing some of their challenges and experiences and acknowledging some of the difficulties we have as service providers working with some of those agencies, which has been really great.”
“Also, hearing more about what's going on in the innovation space. A lot of talk around artificial intelligence, generative AI, how companies are leveraging, using these technologies to accelerate the drug development process.”

Finding community with friends old and new
“The highlight of my experience at RAPS Convergence was running into peers that we saw last year and people you see online, where you finally get to put a face to the name. Because it really is a community. It's not just different organizations coming together. We all work together. We share our knowledge and experience. We learn from each other. This year, I have loved seeing fellow RAPS members I met last year and continue to maintain relationships with.”
“We also brought a new member of our team for her first time, and I got to watch her just be in awe of all the different opportunities that come together where we can work together as a profession.”

Carrying on a family legacy
"I like to say that I've been born and raised into RAPS for 15 years now, and so I'm such a proud daughter of my mom, who's also a member. That's how I got into RAPS. I have been enjoying meeting people, attending sessions and attending the award ceremony where I will receive the Rising Star Award with my mom cheering me on.”

Diving deep on communication with regulators
“For me, the most inspiring was the preconference workshop about how to communicate with regulators and top management. We are communicating all the time, every day in our jobs. We always believe that we are doing the best professional job that we can do, but there are so many tiny little things that can be improved. And I really learned a lot at that workshop.” *
