RAPS Launches Global Survey of Regulatory Professionals

RAPS today launched the 2014 Scope of Practice &Compensation Survey of the Regulatory Profession, a survey of professionals around the world-both RAPS members and nonmembers-who are involved with the regulatory process for healthcare products.

The survey asks regulatory professionals working in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device industries; regulatory agencies; academia, consultancies and other settings about their jobs, backgrounds and compensation. Responses will be collected through March, and a report highlighting the findings will be made available in June.

"This survey is the largest, most comprehensive study of the regulatory profession," said RAPS Executive Director Sherry Keramidas, PhD, FASAE, CAE. "Not only does it help regulatory professionals and talent managers benchmark salaries and compensation packages against others in the field, it also provides information for all stakeholders to develop greater understanding about what regulatory professionals do, and why they are so critically important."

Regulatory professionals can complete the survey online at http://ow.ly/t2cCP. Participants receive free advance access to the results, and respondents who have the Regulatory Affairs Certification (RAC) credential also will receive one point toward their recertification requirement.

RAPS has conducted this research for nearly 25 years, and the survey is fielded every two years. For the most recent survey in 2012, RAPS collected responses from nearly 3,000 regulatory professionals in 58 countries at job levels ranging from the new professional to senior executive positions. Results from the previous survey can be found in the 2012 report.
