How 100+ professionals learned about regulatory intelligence at the RAPS Regulatory Intelligence Conference 2024

The RAPS Regulatory Intelligence Conference concluded today, with 101 attendees learning from 28 speakers over two days in Baltimore, MD, at the first-ever edition of this new event for regulatory intelligence professionals.

RAPS Regulatory Intelligence Conference attendees experienced an interactive, educational program featuring regulatory intelligence presentations from industry experts.

Designing, driving, leveraging, harnessing and maintaining your regulatory intelligence efforts is more important than ever. The agenda for the RAPS Regulatory Intelligence Conference provided a customizable learning experience targeted to help attendees strategically manage the various responsibilities of regulatory intelligence.

““RAPS’ first regulatory intelligence conference was everything I hoped it would be, and one of the best events I’ve attended for reg intel professionals,” said Chris Whalley, senior director and head of global regulatory intelligence and analysis at Pfizer. "Great quality of attendees and content!”

The RAPS Regulatory Intelligence Conference is part of the RAPS Conference Series, a group of events dedicated to providing education for mid- to advanced-level regulatory professionals.

Highlights from the agenda included:

  • An engaging and lively opening plenary session, where regulatory policy professionals who have sat at the user fee negotiating table before discussed how user fee programs came into existence — and what we should look forward to next.

  • Engaging sessions on hot regulatory intelligence topics including mastering the art of communication, monitoring and dissemination external regulatory agency news, establishing regulatory intelligence KPIs, and much more.

  • A timely closing session that explored the application of artificial intelligence and machine learning in the regulatory policy and intelligence functions of drug development and medical device companies.

  • Breaks and a networking reception where attendees and presenters were able to have informal discussions.

  • “Locating and Analyzing Regulatory Precedent for Drugs and Biologics,” a day-long preconference workshop where attendees learned practical strategies for locating, analyzing, and applying precedent to make better strategic regulatory decisions.
